In Bloom: A Conversation With Hannah of Flower House Newrybar
The Wild Stone Muse Series honours the people whose way of living reflects the values we hold close, connection to nature, thoughtful craft, and a quieter, more intentional rhythm of life.
For our second Muse, we sit down with Hannah from Flower House Newrybar, our beautiful boutique neighbour here at The Old Pacific. For nearly a decade, flowers have been a constant thread in Hannah’s life - grown with care, sourced locally, and offered as a gentle invitation to slow down and notice beauty. Her work is deeply rooted in seasonality, sustainability, and heart-led living, and her story feels right at home here.
What do you hope customers take away from their shopping experience at your store?
Joy. I hope they come in and are immersed in the beauty. I also like to encourage people to understand and consider ethical investing when they buy something. It’s that whole less is more.
What’s a hobby or interest that you have outside of work?
Music has a huge part in my life. My life has a soundtrack going back to my earlier memories that carries on through and can trigger moments in time to become apparent. As a family, we also really enjoy live music together.

What’s the one thing you’ve always wanted to do or learn, but haven’t had the chance to yet?
I used to paint and I would love to just have the time and space to paint and create art.
What's the best piece of advice you've ever received professionally?
Treat your business like one of your children, and have the same level of consistent advocacy.
What's the most valuable lesson you've learned in your life so far?
Radical acceptance of what is.
Where can you be found when not working?
Spending time in the sunshine, eating good food with my special people, in the garden or renovating our old farmhouse.
Is there a piece of jewellery you wear often? What does it mean to you?
I wear a kyanite ring made for me by a friend who is a jeweller, in memory of my son Khaya. It’s set in silver and 18ct gold. I also wear a stack of bangles that my children love because they say they can hear me coming.
I have a newer piece from Wild Stone, a heart on a gold chain, that reminds me to go to my heart when I get stressed.

You can find Hannah and her beautiful blooms at Flower House Newrybar, located right next to us at The Old Pacific, Newrybar.
